So what about a woman like me? I am married and make more money than my husband, and always will. Have set up our 401K, and pay our medical insurance, etc.

I do not shop for shoes or bag but more of a clearance girl and we have been together 10 years and I don’t hate him, LOL.

It also depends on the state that you live. Where I live it is shown over and over again that whomever, whether men or women make the most will pay for alimony, etc.

I do not think everyone needs to get married and if you feel that way than don’t but you could also just get a pre-nup and that would help protect all parties involved. As for being a punching bag I think you need to stop dating/marrying as#hole women. Like you said not all men are bad, either are all women.

Before I even came close to marriage, I made sure I had 401K, IRA, owned a piece of property (which we now keep and rent for more equity) and basically set it up so that if it didn’t happen I would be ok.

Plus my mother always said that you could have a husband or wife but if you can’t take care of yourself what would happen if your partner died, etc?
