Two of my single friends and I saw Valentine’s Day and went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen saturday evening, and I just stayed in the rest of the night. I then spent actual V-day visiting with my sister and my 1 1/2 month old niece, then drinking wine, eating cake and watching “17 Again” (yes, Zac Efron) with a friend before going to bed.

I bought myself Valentine’s day candy (the gummies, and of course a $10 box of chocolate), but surprisingly there was no crying or face stuffing involved with my day. In fact, I had an amazing weekend. I think you just need the right attitude.

@GBG: Gotta love yourself first and foremost before wanting someone else to love you. Just keep trying to be the best you can be and enjoy yourself… something will come along.

My Valentine’s Day was quite nice. Went to 5:30 Mass with my guy (he’s Catholic, and I find it charming to be let in on something so spiritually intimate), then he took me to his house and made me dinner. He totally overwhelmed me with gifts though—flowers, chocolates, earrings AND a racy card. I made him my best chocolate chunk pecan cookies.
