The OP wouldn’t even be asking this question if he didn’t know that nowadays, you need two people both pulling their financial weight in a relationship in order to live in a major metropolitan area, and even then, it’s a struggle to maintain a decent quality of life.

@vaharleygirl Absolutely. I’m not saying our system is perfect (far from it, as CR aptly described), merely pointing out feminism advocates equal treatment, not “women can do everything men can do and are entitled to being treated like a lady besides.”

Notice, however, that in the states that “family values” politicians come from, the cost of living is significantly lower and a family can live quite well on a single income.
