[heartiste: yes. male hormones rise and fall with changes in self-perceived status. game will raise a man's status (by making him more attractive to women and/or by eliciting positive reactions from women) and thus his hormonal profile and smell will shift.]

[heartiste: i'm of course being a little bit glib here. smell isn't the only thing women respond to, nor even a very important factor. yes, a man's T levels fluctuate with status changes (the notorious example is businessmen whose T goes up after a huge deal), but game hits attraction triggers in women that exist irrespective of a man's odor. this study focused on smell as a proxy for those attraction triggers, but the dominance itself was established by a personality questionnaire identifying those men who had the traits of dominant men -- i.e., they answered questions that indicated a suite of personality traits that are typically associated with dominance.]
